Obasanjo, Buhari planning interim govt —FG

The Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, on Monday, said a plot by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to form an interim government has been uncovered.
The minister said this in Lagos at the launch of a book titled, ‘Watch the Watcher,’ written by an activist, Yinka Odumakin, in reaction to Obasanjo’s controversial book, ‘My Watch’.
Adesiyan said he had already directed the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba; and the Department of State Service to arrest anybody that made inflammatory statements ahead of the 2015 elections.
He said, “Many of those in the APC are disgruntled PDP members who are no longer relevant and because they could not have their way, they have started to heat up the polity. They have said they will form a parallel government if they lose.
“I have already told the IG and the DSS to arrest anybody making such mutinous and inflammatory statements.”
Adesiyan said his suspicion was fuelled by a threat by the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, that the APC would form a parallel government if the 2015 general elections were rigged.
He added, “Obasanjo is already planning to install an interim government with Buhari. But we will vote and we will work with whoever wins the election.”
Adesiyan, who was detained in 2003 for the murder of the Minister of Justice, Chief Bola Ige, said the former President was vindictive and was fighting Jonathan because he (Jonathan) had refused to be used by him.
The minister, who was later freed over Ige’s murder, said Obasanjo picked Jonathan as the late President Umaru Yar’Adua’s running mate because he felt he could control him but his plans backfired.
The minister said, “He picked a President that was sick and while we were campaigning for the President, he (Yar’Adua) was always in Germany receiving treatment. While many were lobbying for the VP slot, Obasanjo picked a gentleman, Goodluck Jonathan, who had no strong political base so that he could control him.
“Unfortunately for Obasanjo, God had a better plan and Jonathan refused to be used. Obasanjo, being the man that he is, has now teamed up with Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar to snatch power but Tinubu will outsmart him because we Osun people are smart. Ask Tinubu, he is my brother, from my state. He is from Iragbiji while I am from Ode-Omu.”
The Director of Communications, Buhari Campaign Organisations, Dele Alake, said it was silly for anyone to say that Buhari was plotting the emergence of an interim government when Buhari was also participating in the presidential election.
He said, “It must have dawned on Nigerians that the PDP don’t have any answer to the multifarious problems plaguing Nigeria and that is why they have resorted to mudslinging and character assassination.
“If Buhari was planning an interim government, why would he be running for President in the first place? I think sanity has taken leave from them.
“Buhari remains the only viable solution to the quagmire that Nigeria has fallen into and it will take a disciplined person like Buhari to straighten things out.”
When contacted, a source close to Obasanjo, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said it was only the ex-president that could react to the allegation.
The source told our correspondent on the telephone, “It is only Baba that can react to the matter.”

Another 911? North Korea warns it would attack US

North Korea has warned of attacks against the United States, accusing the Obama administration of being behind the making of the movie "The Interview."
After the United States publicly accused the communist country of coordinating the cyberattack against Sony, a North Korean government spokesman, speaking on state-run TV, discussed targeting “the White House, the Pentagon and … all of mainland USA” if the United States does not agree to a joint investigation of the incident with North Korea.
North Korea has long proclaimed innocence in the Sony hacking scandal, which escalated to threats of violence against movie theaters that showed the movie. The film’s plot focuses on the assassination of leader Kim Jong un.
Obama, who promised to respond “proportionately” to the attack, clarified how he views the incident.
“I don’t think it was an act of war. I think it was an act of cybervandalism that was very costly, very expensive,” Obama said in an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union.”
The Obama administration is reviewing whether to put North Korea on its list of state sponsors ofterrorism. North Korea came off the list in 2008 under President George W. Bush.
“The Interview,” starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, was scheduled for theatrical release Dec. 25. Sony says it is exploring ways to distribute the movie, but at this point no distribution plan has been revealed.

Vote For Content, Buhari/Osinbajo Represent The Best Content For Nigerians – By Prof. Chris Nwaokobia Jnr

Buhari-Yemi Osinbajo
Buhari, Yemi Osinbajo
Thank God that yet again our nation has assembled a duo that evokes strong following like Abiola & Kingibe did in 1992/93. The APC duo of Buhari/Osibajo are men of unrivaled integrity, their strongest enemies cannot remove from that reality nor can the hate by Jonathanians taint their credibility.
Whilst unveiling the GEJ campaign in Lagos, I heard the President’s jester Doyin Okupe who had the temerity to compare a Separatist/Sectional President Goodluck Jonathan with Jesus Christ, Doyin forgets that there is always a limit to luck. Doyin talked about the need to continue with the Nigeria of the now rather than going back to the Nigeria of the 80s. Curiously the Chairman of the event Richard Akinjide is in his 80s about 10years older than Buhari; the Chairman of GEJ’s Presidential Declaration jamboree that took place a day after almost 100 kids were barbecued in Yobe by the Haramists, Bello Haliru is in his 80s, Anenih in his 80s, Edwin Clark in his 80s & before politics tore them apart rather recently Bamanga Tukur is over 80years. Truth be said the PDP is a Party of Old horses & turks, their contentious primaries yet wreaks of bad blood telling the level of individualism & selfishness that underscores the character of that Party.
GEJ has made corruption and fraud States-craft and elevated lying and perfidy to State Art. This regime yet pays subsidy for fuel even when everywhere in the world the price of fuel is falling since the steady drop in global Oil price, in Cotonou from 435CFA fuel price has fallen to 255CFA but in Jona’s Nigeria nothing changes. Sad.
•Pls read up..What is Truth? II
CONTENT OF THE CHARACTER PLEASE, NOT CREED OR CLAN III.
SAY NO TO CORRUPTION.
Did u know that d Lekki-Ikoyi link Bridge constructed by d APC led govt is 1.36km long?
Did u also know that d 2nd Niger Bridge awarded by d PDP led govt is 1.5km long?
Whilst d Lekki-Ikoyi link Bridge was constructed for N29b, d 2nd Niger Bridge was awarded for a whooping sum of N117b.
NOW is d time for a BALLOT based REVOLUTION b4 GEJ & d men who donated 22B in 1day to his campaign buy up Nigeria.
I AM NOT A FAN OF OBJ but cannot deny the TRUTH.
“It is better for Buhari to come to power in 2015 and jail me, than for Jonathan to come back and destroy the remaining Nigeria.”
– Obasanjo in his book ‘My Watch’
I will rather return to d 1980s than to ride on a reverse gear in d 2000s. A reverse gear down d path of unbridled corruption; infrastructural decay; terror & insurgency; poverty & joblessness; false statistics & deceit; darkness & power outage; & down d reverse gear where only JONATHANIANS falsely see progress.
I CHOOSE DEEP & RESEARCHED FACTS over BANAL SENTIMENTS.
Doyin Okupe said that Buhari/Osinbajo will take Nigeria back to d 80s if elected. So what? If they can’t make d 2000s worthwhile who doesn’t want back the 80s? In d Nigeria of d 1980s, we slept in considerable safety. In d Nigeria of d 80s, our Naira was at par with d dollar. In d Nigeria of d 80s, we had roads, schools, hospitals & infrastructures that were better managed, & electricity was relatively constant.
As a realistic alternative to d present malaise & d cesspool of ill-rule which GEJ epitomises, I want Buhari/Osinbajo becos I’m sure that they shall lead d WAR against corruption & reposition Nigeria for d hope we seek, a reality that scares GEJ’s funders.
God Bless Nigeria.

#Osinbajo, Our “political joker” that has sent jitters down the spine of PDP – APC (Thisday)

Buhari-Yemi Osinbajo
Buhari, Yemi Osinbajo
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has termed the emergence of the former Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Yemi Osibajo, as its vice-presidential candidate as its “political joker” that has sent jitters down the spine of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Timi Frank, in an interview with journalists at the weekend, said although Osibajo may not have had political structures before his nomination, his selling point as a member of one of the biggest churches in the country has stood him out as a critical factor in the election.
“The issue of the vice-president is not all about structures. You can even be a presidential candidate who does not have structures. When Dr. Goodluck Jonathan became the president of Nigeria, he had no structures.
“Osibajo today may not have structures, but he is even better and because of his Christian background, he has a structure whether you like it or not.
“Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is one of the biggest churches you can think of and has one of the largest followership in Nigeria today,” he said
Explaining how Osibajo emerged, Frank said the party believed it was necessary to carry everybody along and do everything possible to win 2015.
He said the idea of APC fielding a Muslim-Muslim candidates had been the expectation of the PDP, adding that the ruling party was clearly disappointed that its strategy did not work out.
“Whether you like it or not, these complaints are not coming from the leaders of the APC. They are coming from the PDP angle because their own strategy from the beginning did not work.
Right now, the PDP is confused because they felt it would have been easier to beat the APC if the party fielded a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
“That was their calculation because they have turned Nigeria into a complex religious issue and issue of North versus South. Before today, there was nothing wrong in fielding a Muslim-Muslim ticket. During the 1993 elections, it was a Muslim-Muslim ticket that emerged.
“As a party, we try to take every religion along. It is not even the issue of religion, but we believe as a party that we should carry everybody along because we must do everything possible to win 2015.
“So if that was the case and we picked a Muslim-Muslim ticket, we know that we will be playing into the hands of the PDP and that is what they were going to campaign with.
“So we brought a candidate that who never expected would emerge. Successfully, we have announced our vice-presidential candidate. Yes, people are saying that it was Bola Tinubu who brought Osibajo.
“But let me tell you that in politics today, somebody must bring in somebody whether you like it or not. Was it not Obasanjo that brought Jonathan to limelight? Was it not Obasanjo who brought Umaru Yar’Adua.
“So the issue of Tinubu bringing Osibajo or anybody bringing Osibajo does not play out in this context. The issue is that somebody has emerged and as far as we are concerned, the APC now has an impeccable vice-presidential candidate, a man with character and a fantastic background and a man who we believe can do the job and that is why we said unanimously that he should be our vice-presidential candidate.
“As far as we are concerned, every other person who was considered for the post of running mate are fantastic individuals who you cannot be compared to the PDP vice-presidential candidate.
“So I can tell you that we did not chose Osinbajo, it is God that chose him for us as vice-presidential candidate at this point in time,” he said.
Meanwhile the Buhari Support Group has faulted the PDP campaign fund launch, admonishing stakeholders in the power sector who contributed towards President Jonathan’s re-election campaign fund raising to put the funds into rehabilitating the sector.
Speaking on the issue, the Director, Media, Publicity and ICT of the Buhari Support Group, Dr. Chidia Mamduekwe, said the Buhari/Osibajo APC government would bring hope to Nigerians and would ensure that the country reaches or even exceeds the power generation capacity of about 15,000-20,000MW within their first term in office.
Maduekwe said he would have thought that such funds should have been better deployed in giving Nigerians improved power this Christmas season.
“No country has ever moved from developing to being developed by depending on generators as a source of energy to power their economy. It is most frightening when one juxtaposes the United Nations population projection of Nigeria by year 2030 at about 253million and approximately 300 million by 2050.
“This figure about the same as the current population of the United States. As such, the PDP led-government will only lead Nigeria into a demographic disaster with its current failed energy policy.
“Even if the Nigerian public were to credit PDP with an usual ability to suddenly rediscover themselves and pull away from their overt corrupt practices and multiplies the nation’s power generation capacity by a factor of ten, this is still very inadequate for our projected population.
“We shall still be an energy-deficient nation with a population of about 300 million at that time. However, this PDP inept government cannot, will not and has never been associated with such feats.
“In that case, we might just have lower power output in the next 15 years if they remain in power. Is this a worthy gamble for a nation already groaning under severe misrule?
“We have all witnessed from 1999 till date how billons of dollars have been deployed without any significant improvement in the power sector. It is certainly not in PDP’s character to suddenly improve and this situation, if not addressed, will only push the country into the demographic disaster that currently looms,” he said.
Maduekwe pointed out that it was evident that Buhari and Osibajo will leverage on their established record on good governance and zero tolerance for corruption to ensure that the country reaches or even exceeds the power generation capacity of about 15,000-20,000MW within their first term in office.
“It is only such that can guarantee Nigeria generating approximately 80,000MW in the next 16 years if APC were to be in the saddle for the same period we have had a PDP government,” he added.
However, the presidency has said the suggestion by the APC that the money raised at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) fundraising dinner be used to fund national power projects portrayed the party as an unserious, unfocused and defective organisation with no reasonable alternative solutions to the nation’s problems.
In statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, the presidency said: “Even though we have always known them to be a party with no clear directions, we never thought they could descend so low in exhibiting clear mischief and folly on a critical national issue.
“We wish to reiterate that this government and the PDP will not engage in a dubious practice of collecting money from private individuals and corporate organisations for a purpose only to divert such money to other purposes.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the power reform programme initiated by President Goodluck Jonathan is not run on a knee-jack finance arrangement. It is a properly envisioned roadmap which is being diligently executed in line with best global practices.
“The power reform programme is being funded through our national budgets and a Foreign Direct Investments running into several billion of dollars.”
Okupe said reputable global player such as the General Electric is investing over a billion dollars into the generation component of the sector.
According to the presidential aide, Nigeria is not a beggar nation and it will not be one under the Jonathan presidency.
Okupe then said: “The suggestion that the N21 billion raised at the party fundraising dinner be used for the power project underscores the perplexing ignorance of General Muhammadu Buhari and his team of party voyagers who have shown that they have absolutely no clue about what it requires to implement a modern revolutionary programme in a capital intensive sector such as Power.
“Finally, the accusation that the PDP governors who donated money at the event have not paid civil servants salaries in their states is largely untrue and mischievous.
“We want to believe that the APC probably has it’s own governor, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, in mind when it made this accusation because it is on record that despite being the major financier of the Buhari campaign, this is the governor who has not paid 13,000 teachers their salaries in the last eight months,” Okupe said.

2015: How Amaechi Plan To Uproot PDP, Jonathan, Sambo From Aso Rock, Rescue Nigeria From The Grip Of Evil Party (Osun Defender)

Rotimi AmaechiThe appointment of Governor Chibuike Amaechi as the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation is a masterstroke which will send President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo packing from Aso Rock come 2015.
The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stated this in a press release issued this morning in Port Harcourt.
“This well deserved appointment of our own dear Governor Amaechi demonstrates APC’s seriousness to rescue Nigeria from the grip of an evil party that has enslaved Nigerians and done so much harm to the psyche and economic well being of Nigeria and Nigerians,” Rivers APC said in the statement signed by its State Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya.
Continuing, the party said: “We expect Governor Amaechi to bring his outstanding reputation as a man of courage, vision, principle, winning streak, boldness, strength of character, decency and love of country, as well as his administrative prowess and organisational skills to bear on this task aimed at reclaiming our nation from the doldrums occasioned by an inept, unfocussed and un-visionary leadership.
With Amaechi driving the APC presidential
campaign, we have no doubts at all in our mind that the
days of the Dr. Jonathan, Architect Sambo and the wicked Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Aso Presidential Villa are indeed numbered.”
Directly addressing Governor Amaechi, Rivers APC said:
“We are aware of the danger inherent in this present task
and we very much appreciate your patriotic zeal in
accepting this task. This demonstrates your humility and
large-heartedness in view of the politics that played out in the selection of the Vice Presidential Candidate of our great party. That you accepted this assignment shows that your driving force is not your personal gains but what is more gainful to Nigerians. For this we say congratulations as we are convinced that you will prove yourself once again by leading our great party to outstanding and resounding
victory in February 2015.

Bitter Truth!!! The $2.8 b oil money reportedly stolen by Buhari (Osun Defender)

General Buhari’s First Speech after the Military Coup of 31st December 1983 The Niger Times
It is note worthy that a judicial commission set to investigate the alleged theft found Buhari very innocent of the allegation.
Please, do not join irresponsible hate mongers in bearing false witness against an innocent man. General Buhari did not just start serving his father land in 1977, he began it in 1962 when he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Nigerian army. Through the years, he discharged every of his assignments with distinction and blamelessness.
But because most Nigerians are criminals, some of you find it difficult to believe that a man like Buhari, who has held the most lucrative positions (to Nigerians thieves) in his career, could not have stolen from Nigeria. The conclusion, by you, that every Nigerian is a thief (that is what you imply when you assert that Buhari could have stolen while in office) was what fueled all the rumors around him. In every instance where the rumors were investigated, Buhari came out shinning like a virgin star.
By now, you must have accepted that the Irieke Tribunal gave a complete and irrefutable exoneration of Buhari on the stupid allegation of $2.8 billion missing oil money — no money missed or could have even missed. You are an intelligent man and a successful accountant but I was appalled at you for not once deploying your expertise at fiscal matters to dissuade the idiots who believed that it was possible to siphon out of Nigeria $2.8 billion and deposit it in one bank. I could not believe that educated Nigerians could be so dumb over monetary policies that they believed that such a concoction was possible.
By not dismissing the $2.8 billion fairy tale from a professional point of view, and now tarring that excuse by indirectly fueling a ridiculous lie that Buhari lives above his means — he does not live above his means; his most virulent critics who know him personally can tell you so while swearing with Amadioha.
The next rumor about Buhari that was investigated was the accusation that he and Idiangbo were enriching themselves through the counter trade embarked upon by his administration. In fact, this CIA instigated rumor was so ripe that Babangida used it to convince some soldiers who were unwilling to join his coup into joining it. He said something like this to them, ‘how could they (Buhari and Idiagbon) stop us from stealing but are making themselves millionaires through counter trade?’ The idea that Buhari was making money through counter trade so enviously disturbed Babangida that he announced the cancellation and probing of the counter trade scheme on his maiden address to the nation — just imagine that. Well, the tribunal he set up to investigate the counter trade came back and told him that they had been sold a dummy — the counter trade was an economic bonanza to Nigeria, with no one having personally benefited from it fraudulently.
Babangida tried to revive the counter trade but the CIA, at the behest of Big Oil, told him, “no way Jose”, and he balked (they had told Buhari similarly but he defied them). How did we get to the counter trade?
Well, the Buhari adminsitration had made oil bunkering punishable by firing squad and overnight, oil thieves exited Nigerian territories (they came back right after he left office and are today siphoning more oil out of Nigeria than Nigeria sells, with no Nigerian leader doing anything about it). With that, Nigeria became awash in excess crude oil, which we could not sell due to our OPEC assigned quotas. Ingeniously, Buhari and Tam David West decided to barter our oil for the manufacturing, industrial, educational, and hospital equipment that we lacked but needed badly — bear in mind that our earnings had reduced by about 60% as at 1983 and a reasonable portion of what we earned went back into servicing debts incurred by the politicians.
By bartering the oil that we could not sell, we were solving a major part of our economic decline — the barter was keeping industries afloat, hospitals viable, science and education up to standard, etc. But American and British Big Oil did not like this, for it cut off their exploitative profiteering in the countries with whom we bartered oil. In addition, the UK manufacturers association (or whatever it was called) raised a serious alarm, to the effect that Nigeria’s bartering for oil had made it possible for Nigeria to reduce its projected imports from the UK by over 50%, a situation that could lead to unemployment and economic crises in the UK. It was at this juncture that the CIA and its British counterpart went to work, tarnishing Nigeria and Buhari.
First, they spread a propaganda within OPEC that Nigeria was quitting and destabilizing the organization — they presented oil bartering as their evidence. OPEC summoned Nigeria and Tam David West denied that Nigeria was quitting or destabilizing OPEC. He cited Saudi Arabia as an OPEC member that once used barter to solve its pressing economic needs when it could not export more oil than the quota allowed it to export. With that, OPEC told the CIA to mind its business and leave the organization alone. But knowing Nigerians to be inexplicably gullible over rumors, the CIA planted the rumor, which was believed then by most Nigerians, until Babangida’s tribunal uncovered its source and its mendacity.
I must add that the citizens who allow themselves to be deluded by unintelligent lies of this sort deserve whatever befalls them and or whatever befalls their nation. In other words, the gullibility of Nigerians, with respect to admiring or accepting gossips and character assassinations, is one of the reasons that Nigeria is today a big for nothing country. But for Nigerians’ gullibility in accepting the distorted versions of the events of January 15, 1966, there would have been no civil war or the atrocities that preceded and succeeded it.
It troubles me that most of these lies against Buhari were begun by the then notoriously partisan Yoruba press and later championed by our ordinary Yoroba compatriots whose gripe was the alleged disrespecting of Pa Awo and the retrial of some acquitted beloved Yoroba UPN ex-governors by the Buhari regime. While our Yoroba folks have mostly learnt the truth and backed away from this degree of incessant hate-filed falsehood peddling against Buhari, my Igbo, as did some in 1966, have taken over the fatuous falsehood ferrying.
In 1966, Igbo took over Yoroba’s wahala that began in 1964 and brought a hundredth fold that wahala to Igbo folks, with its residuals still felt today. Fifty years later, Igbo are once again grabbing Yoroba-abandoned falsehood peddling against Buhari and are running wild and deliriously with it. All this for Jonathan Goodluck who has 419ned us consistently.
Today, we have a seaport at Enugwu where he claimed to have built an airport for us. He is building a second Niger Bridge but Igbo is paying for most of it through tollgate — something that had never been done anywhere else in Nigeria. The federal government even constructed the new River Kaduna Bridge — a local problem for that matter– but Ebele finds it difficult to construct an essential inter state linkage like the second Niger Bridge without charging Ndi Igbo for it, yet most of us don’t see the injustice there? Igbo entrepreneurs must import their goods from Lagos and wait months and months to clear the goods at high costs. But this can easily be ameliorated by putting the ports in the East and Midwest into use.
It is stupid and vintage visionless leadership that a country of over a 100 million people operates only one seaport. A couple of weeks ago, the catastrophe that is that seaport — delays in clearing goods, traffic congestion within the port, corruption of all sorts in open view, the high penalties paid by the government for ships that berth because of congestion, etc — were cataloged in a news report. All these inefficiencies translate to hardships to the average citizen and high cost of doing business by the business community. Were Ebele a visionary leader, all the seaports outside Lagos would be in operation now, they would have created hundreds of jobs in their areas of location, and also made entrepreneurship attractive once again. It will cost the government the same amount it pays in penalties to delayed berthing ships to make these other ports operational. The returns will be so huge and easily felt by the people that Ebele will overnight become the most accomplished president in Nigeria. Instead of some of you to channeling him into these areas, you only resort to applauding his incompetence, his brutish deploying of the instrument of the federal government to crush anyone opposed to his reelection, and your irrational fixation on Muhammadu Buhari. What most of you do not know is that Ebele holds Buhari in the most utmost respect because of Buhari’s incorruptibility.
There is nothing wrong in not supporting Buhari based on ideology but there is everything wrong in making up lies just to tar him. What you are doing with this falsehood peddling is not funny and it will backfire on Igbo in the same way that Ifeajuna’s irrational coup backfired on us. Please folks, play politics of intelligence, not politics of loud mouth and character assassinations.
I am sorry for the lengthiness of this piece. I am not even half way done but I had to stop myself against the dictates of my mind.
